Our West Midlands One regional final was played at the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall which saw around 150 players take their seat in the hope of qualifying for our VEGAS100 National Final next year. We also awarded the best represented venue along with £500 in cash shared out amongst places 2nd to 8th. This guaranteed over £1,500 worth of prizes.

The first prize to be awarded was the team event trophy which was won convincingly by the Albion in Wolverhampton with 4 top 50 finishers! Congratulations to Mitch Reece, David Beards, Mark Elwell & Brian Harris.

Our 10 player final was led by John Stephens from the Old Horns with a stack of 112,000 but he was closely followed by our online qualifier and past VEGAS100 member Mark Bruerton on 95,000. The performance of the final table went to Nick Peet who started on just 32,000 but managed make the heads-up encounter against Dennis Pietragallo. Nick went close to completing the comeback on several occasions but after around 90 minutes of heads-up play Dennis turned the tournament on it’s head and got some fortune when it mattered the most as his A-10 defeated Nick’s A-J on a 10-6-7-2-4 board to become the latest West Midlands One regional final champion and our day’s VEGAS100 qualifier.
