Every weekend Betfred Poker give away $500 to our members in 4 tournaments spread over the weekend. All of our tournaments have very small buy-ins, ranging from $2 to $3. So there’s the potential of a big reward for little cost.

On Friday we have a $100 ADDED tournament at 9pm with just a $2 buy-in. First prize is usually in the region of $70.

On Saturday we have TWO turbo tournaments, both with $100 ADDED to the prize-pool. Again a $2 buy-in for each with 1pm and 5pm starting times.

On Sunday we have our biggest tournament of the weekend which runs along side our Red Tavern online league. For only a $3 buy-in, you have the chance of winning almost $150 with $200 being added to the prize-pool by Betfred.

Carl Morgan who plays Redtooth Poker at the Sunderland Street Sporting Club in Macclesfield and who is also a regular in our Redtooth Tavern online pub league under the alias of ‘bugse’, won $20,000 in a monthly $1,000,000 Guaranteed prize-pool tournament on Betfred poker by finishing in 8th place.  Carl isn’t a stranger to winning big online though, he also took down our very own $10,000 Guaranteed prize-pool tournament last June on Betfred for a very nice $2,700.

Sheffield United’s Brammall Lane was the venue for the South Yorkshire Regional Final. 8 National Final qualifying places were to be won along with the usual £1000 to be split between the top 8.

An 8 player final table meant that everyone would receive an invite and some cash to go with it. After a short break, play resumed with a tie for the chip lead. Paul Foster from the Sportsman in Doncaster and Ian Jolley from the Shoulder Of Mutton in Chesterfield both had 190,000 in chips. Their lead was very slim though as Martin Presley had 180,000 in front of him and not much further back was Neil Wenlock and Donovan Wiggan, both with 150,000 in chips respectively. Six eliminations later, we had our heads-up match which was between Paul Foster and Martin Presley, who was also from the Sportsman in Doncaster. Martin would take down the South Yorkshire Regional Final when his K8 suited had Paul’s 84 dominated. The flop brought a possible spilt pot when it came down J79, but a Q turn and a 2 river saw Martin Presley win the tournament.
