Every player in the Redtooth Poker League knows how difficult it is to win their pub league, but grandmother of two Janet Tulloch won the league in two different pubs in Birmingham last season. Janet is pictured with her trophies and certificates for winning the titles in the Raven and the Hunters Moon. To mark her achievement, she was given a free £20 bet by Betfred representative, Nathan Gibbons.
Janet commented; “You’re never too old to start playing poker. We have a great night in both of the pubs I play in.”

Redtooth Poker Player takes down APAT pot limit Omaha
September 2nd, 2009
Regular Redtooth Poker player Paul Pitchford from the Travellers Rest, Sutton In Ashfield stood strong at the APAT Pot Limit Omaha Championship where he defeated 82 other Omaha enthusiasts. Paul also won £1,300 and a gold medal for his troubles!!!
I caught up with my friend Paul after his win and here’s what he had to say…….
“This was my first PLO live tournament and I went into it looking for experience in the live game as apposed to playing online.
I made a steady start to the day and felt very comfortable until I lost a crucial hand where I had a wrap and a flush draw which was ultimately about 22 outs vs a flopped set. Unfortunately my opponents hand held up and I lost the hand leaving me pretty short stacked. I managed to hang on until I quadrupled up and then won a big pot with a full house vs the nut flush. This gave me a good final table stack. The final table was a dream really. I had a good advantage over my opponents as it seemed I had played PLO more than all but 2 players. Add this to me running well in the final and it all came together and I won the event as an alternate.
Eventually I decided to play the £100NLH main event as an alternate again and managed to finish day 1b as chip leader. I went into day 2 well stacked but lost a deciding hand early as my opponent out flopped my 2 pair with a flopped straight!I managed to survive the day finishing on the bubble for the final table in 10th. This was good enough to win player of the series though, an achievement I’m very proud of!”
Paul has also qualified for the Redtooth Poker National Final next year where he and other qualifiers will play for a share of £12,000 plus the prestigious title of “UK Pub Poker Champion”
Once again, Well Done Paul…..
