Confident?

May 29th, 2009

carlsberg_table_edit

We reckon we may have stumbled upon another poker-related phenomenon here at Redtooth Poker following the introduction of Betfred’s hugely popular sportsbook betting at our recent Scottish regional final. It almost goes without saying that poker players – not usually shy retiring types – are confident about backing themselves at generous odds to win. Of course, your mates can back you too.  Confident? continued »

Scottish Winner!

May 26th, 2009

Neil McTaggart wins the Scotland Regional Final!

Players from all over Scotland gathered at the Queens Retreat, South Queensferry on Sunday 24th May to battle it out to become the Season 1 Redtooth Champion for Scotland.
Stuart Edby from the Northern Bar, Aberdeen had the dubious honour of being eliminated first, a three hundred mile round trip for one hand of cards.

Our on-line partners Betfred had for the first time ever given players the opportunity to have a bet on themselves in the final. Frank Coan, landlord of the Queens Retreat was one of the first to take up this option, placing bets on all of the qualifiers from the Queens Retreat, unfortunately his faith was not justified with Dave Merritt in 17th place being the best placed finisher.

League winner Michael Shingleton of the Barracuda Bar, Chester Le Street hit his first ever Royal Flush on his rise to the top of the table. He played K 10 of spades hitting the flush on the turn and never cracked a smile, resulting in being well paid by generous Matthew Ebdon. Well done!
