The fabulous Grosvenor Casino in Nottingham welcomed around 150 players from the East Midlands region to award over £1,500 worth of prizes. The top prize being a trip to Las Vegas with £500 also being shared.

The team event was a three way shootout between the Harrier in Peterborough, the Boot & Shoe in Newark and the Mundy Arms in Heanor. The contest was decided after Conor Bostock (Mundy Arms) and David Harris (Boot & Shoe) were eliminated which left the Harrier as the last team standing. Congratulations to Katy Leftley, Lysik Zbigniew, Adam Lysik and Jake Norfield.

Our 9 player final saw Harry Kershaw hold a big chip lead on 245,000 with only Simon Penaluna anywhere near on 128,000. The first player to be eliminated was Daniel Scott in 9th place who was shortly followed by Drew Wilson in 8th, Mark Hawley 7th, Carl Gibson 6th, Harry Kershaw 5th, Jim McKeown 4th and Simon Penaluna 3rd leaving big stack Puneet Sharma and Darren Pooley to battle for the remaining 2 prizes.

The tournament soon came to an end as Puneet’s As-Ks dominated Darren’s A-2 with Darren at risk. The final board left us in no doubt on the winner as it ran off 10s-6s-10c-5s-9s to give Puneet Sharma the nut flush and with it a trip to Las Vegas.
