Luton’s #1 casino, the Grosvenor Casino, hosted our Central England regional final with a higher than expected turnout taking their seats to try and win the first Central England VEGAS100 seat for the 2016 final. We also had £500 to give out as well as a glass trophy for the best represented venue.

The first award of the day was the team event trophy. The Greyhound in Claydon took away this award with all 4 players in the top 40! Congratulations to Sharon Shipp, Rob Howley, Vicky Scott and 8th place finisher Peter Clayton.

Our 10 player final had Tony Shaves with the chip lead on 207,000 with Peter Clayton clinging onto his 29,000 short stack. The performance of the day, however, belonged to Richard Blanchard who managed to guide his short stack into the heads-up encounter against chip leader Tony Shaves and after around 5 or 6 hands of heads-up play, Richard had overturned the chip deficit and went on to take the Central England crown and become the latest Central England VEGAS100 qualifier.
