Near record breaking numbers hit the Loose Cannon Club to compete in the final East London Regional Final of the Redtooth year. Sunday March 6th would be the day when the hopes and dreams of east end poker players would be made or crushed, with the pinnacle of pub poker looming large. The usual eight National Final qualifiers and eight cash prize winners were up for grabs, so… shuffle up and deal!

As 2pm ticked by the tournament was under way. Player by player hit the rail including this year’s Irish Open qualifier Warren Stanley.

After the break, attention was turned to the Team Event. The CK Bar put in a good performance again, even without last seasons champion Andy Keeley. The winning pub was eventually named as the Windsor, London with Chris Hood once again spearheading their challenge. On this occasion Chris was accompanied by the equally impressive Aftab Khan and Danny Tatum who together beat the other 39 competing venues.

The final table of 10 was set as soon as David Moss was eliminated in 11th place. Chris Hood from the Windsor made his third final table in a row making him a player to watch out for in Nottingham. The heads-up match was a short contest between Ben Harvey and Karl Sillett. Harvey got his chips in as a slight underdog with Q7 vs Sillett’s KT. A flop of 8J7 gave Harvey the lead and a 4 4 turn and river proved no help for Sillett. Congratulations Ben Harvey from the Globe, Chelmsford.
