Our newest venue the Genting Casino in Salford hosted our North West One final which involves our Manchester members and surrounding areas. Another Vegas 100 finalist would be found and many prizes awarded throughout the day.

In the starting line up were two previous National Final finalists in Rick Makin, who finished 2nd in 2010, and Andrew Taylor who finished in 8th in 2011. Rick Makin, however, had already booked his seat into our Vegas 100 club via our online qualifiers.

The team event trophy went to the Fox & Goose in Lancaster who were well represented on the day by league champion Andrea Graham, Craig Rogerson, Tony Martindale and Rennie Procter.

Andrew Taylor hit the final table with a huge stack and looked in great shape for a deep run as short stack Tony Martindale exited in 8th place and was followed by Jonny McGurk in 7th, David Murray in 6th, Alex McLaggan in 5th with Neil Rainford and Steven Regan in 4th and 3rd respectively. This left good friends Andrew Taylor and Rick Makin to contest the heads-up match. The final hand saw Andrew have the best of it flopping top pair with 9-10 suited which was more than enough to claim the North West One title and join the Vegas 100 club next year. Congratulations Andrew!
