Redtooth’s Merseysiders headed down to the Genting Casino in Liverpool to battle for another Vegas trip, more cash prizes and numerous National Final seats.

The day’s first trophy was the team event. This trophy was hotly contested with the Lion Hotel and Park Hotel providing two finalists each but the trophy eventually went to a well deserved venue in the Ellesmere Port Conservative Club who were well represented by Wendy Parker, Tony Clarke, Alan Ball and Raymond Williams.

The 10 player final included 2013 Vegas 100 member Richard Fitzsimons, who was looking for his second regional final victory and re-qualify for next year’s trip along with his compatriot Neil Sutcliffe who is already on next year’s trip. As the action got under way, Sharon Harding made a quick exit in 10th place and was soon followed by Steve Haywood in 9th, Gavin McLean 8th, Wendy Parker 7th, Alan Radband 6th, Chris Watson 5th, Jamie Barratt 4th and Paul Gardner 3rd. The heads-up match involved Richard Fitzsimons once again along with Steve McIntosh as both fought hard for the top prize. The final hand saw Richard table A-K to Steve’s 6-5 who was very much in with a shout as the flop came A-3-4. However, the turn and river favoured last year’s champ as a 10-turn and K-river secured the victory for Richard Fitzsimons, congratulations!
