New Brighton’s Grosvenor Casino, on the Wirral, welcomed players from around Merseyside to compete for many prizes. One lucky player would win a trip to Las Vegas with Redtooth Poker in 2015 with another seven players sharing £500 in cash.

There was also a crystal glass trophy awarded to the best performing venue on the day. This prestigious award went to a new Redtooth Poker venue, the Willows Hotel in Upton. Congratulations to Mick Griffiths, Joan Rhodes, David Kendrick & Gary Abbott.

Our 10 player final had 2 time winner Richard Fitzsimons leading the pack on 121,000 chips, looking for his 3rd regional final title. However, Richard had a final table to forget as he exited in 9th place ahead of fellow Vegas 100 2014 member Chris Yewdell. Tony Clarke finished in 8th place with Rob McElhinney 7th, Don Irwin 6th, David Kendrick 5th, Mick Griffiths 4th & Alan Aiken 3rd.

The heads-up battle was a contest between Scott Palmer and Albert Lawrence, both payers with their eyes firmly on the day’s top prize with £200 going to the runner-up. The final hand saw a roller coaster of emotions as Albert’s J-5 out flopped Scott’s K-9 on a 4-6-5 flop. However, the tables soon turned as Scott hit a 9 on the river to eliminate Albert and claim the latest Wirral regional final title. Congratulations!
