Our North East regional final was played out in Newcastle’s Grosvenor Casino as nearly 150 Redtooth Poker members from Newcastle and surrounding areas played for another golden ticket to Las Vegas. Other prizes were also awarded as 12 players left with a prize.

The team event trophy was won by the Anson in Wallsend who had 3 top 25 finishers on the day. Congratulations to William Cartwright, Callum Fidler, Tom Wilson & Martin Mcgarry.

Our final table of 10 saw Vegas 100 2014 member Hayley Ratcliffe start as the chip leader on 112,000 but things didn’t quite go to plan as Hayley exited in 9th place just ahead of Barry McMann in 10th. Phil Wright finished in 8th place with Chris Rushton 7th, Tom Murriman 6th, James Ratcliffe 5th, William Cartwright 4th & Alex Blenkinsopp 3rd.

Our heads-up encounter saw John Landale match up against Claire Walker for the ultimate prize in pub poker. The tournament came to an abrupt end as both players were dealt a big hand with John’s 8-8 against Claire’s A-Q. Both players caught the preceding board but Claire’s pair of queens was no match for John’s set of 8’s on a 8-10-3-Q-J board. With Claire being at risk she was unfortunately eliminated as John was crowned the new North East regional champion.
