The second Redtooth Poker UK National Final was played at the Grosvenor Casino in Coventry, part of the Ricoh Arena. The final 10 golden tickets were awarded to our players during a fantastic day of poker action that saw over 200 qualifiers sit down in an attempt to claim the greatest prize in pub poker, VEGAS100 qualification. Joe Beevers, a Grosvenor Poker pro, was on hand throughout the day to meet our qualifiers for photos and poker talk.

joebeeverssngAfter the tournament had started the first 8 players to be eliminated from the UK National Final received an invitation into a Sit’n’ Go with Joe where there was a £25 bounty on his head with the winner of the tournament receiving £75. After about 1 hours play the Sit n Go was over with Martin Ramm winning the Sit ‘n’ Go and claiming £75 and well done to Paltan Ace for claiming Joe’s bounty by knocking him out in 5th position and winning £25. Congratulations to both players.

roompicWith an increased starting stack of 10,000 chips we had well over 2million chips in play. This ensured the tournament would last nearly 10 hours before we found our final 10 players. At 3:00pm, 2 hours after the start, our players went on a buffet break to recharge ready for a slightly quicker blind structure and introduction of ante’s. After the restart the field soon decreased to under 100 players remaining and then around 2 hours later we were on the verge of our final 2 tables.

We got down to our final 20 players at around 9:00pm where a brand new seat draw took place to mix things up a bit. Mike Lynch from the Birchwood Social Club in Lincoln led the field on 285,000 with Geoffrey Wing the unfortunate short stack on 22,000 chips.

We would also like to mention a great gesture of goodwill from Caroline Quinn. Caroline has been a part of the Redtooth Las Vegas trip every year since we first went back in 2011 but always as a paying guest, never as a qualifier. As in previous year’s Caroline had paid up again to join us for this year’s trip but, on this occasion, Caroline finally won her seat into our VEGAS100 final. Normally we would now offer Caroline a full refund on any money paid to us but instead she offered her guest ticket to our 11th place finisher Chris Cook, who accepted the offer with thanks. Chris will not be playing in the VEGAS100 final but he will be coming on the trip to experience Vegas with us all. A great gesture from Caroline Quinn!
