Our 10 online qualifiers have been found! Congratulations to all 10 of you and a special mention goes to Addickted4ever for claiming the title and becoming our new online champion. The new season starts again with week 1 on Sunday 7th February with a host of brand new tournaments exclusive to Redtooth members with small buy-ins and $400 ADDED money EVERY week given away by Betfred. So it would be fantastic if you guys could support these tournaments as that could result in even MORE money being given away in the future. Details of these tournaments will be put in the ‘News’ section.

The very first Ace Of Clubs Quarterly Final was held on Sunday 31st January at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham, with 214 players battling it out for a share of the £10,000 prize pool.

Before the start of play, each club winner was presented with a certificate and glass trophy from John Holmes who is the National Operations Manager for Riley’s.

Play started promptly at 2.00pm, when DTD Tournament Director, Simon Trumper announced “Shuffle up and deal”, players started with 10,000 chips and a 30min clock, so there was no need to rush or take any chances, it was going to be a long day. However, Tom Roffey of Maidstone had other ideas and inside 25 minutes he was the first player eliminated, finishing 214th. With the pressure off, players settled in preparing to wait for that right moment to act.

Another season and another year of the Redtooth Poker League is almost over. The season closes on Saturday 6th February with the new season starting on Sunday 7th February. The upcoming Regional Finals are your final chance to qualify for the National Final at Dusk Till Dawn on Sunday 28th March 2010. With £12,000 up for grabs at the National Final, can you afford to miss out? Don’t forget we need the result of your play-off by Tuesday 16th February to ensure your places at the Regional Finals.

This means the new poker year is due to commence in the coming week and we all hope last year was as good for you as it was for us. But we are pretty sure the following year will be our biggest and best yet!

Our online pub league will kick off the new season on 7th February at 2pm and along with it will come some brand new tournaments exclusive to Redtooth members and only on Betfred Poker. So we strongly suggest you keep your eyes peeled for these as you will be able to wage war against your fellow competitors on the virtual felt with money and other prizes up for grabs, not to mention the bragging rights down your local! Details of these tournaments are to come later in the week. For those who don’t know, our online pub league is a great way to make your Regional Final if you fall short in your local pub league. We give away TEN places at the end of the season which gives everyone who competes a great chance of success. Simply visit our Betfred page to download the poker client and to create an account. You will see our Red Tavern tournament in the ‘Scheduled’ and then ‘Affiliate’ tab on the left hand side of the client. It is totally FREE to enter so you don’t even need to deposit! You will also see a link on our Betfred page to attain the league password.

We are still accepting applications for those who are interested in appearing in the worldwide WPT Poker magazine, it’s a great opportunity to be seen by other poker players from all over the world, you might even be on the next page to Phil Ivey! As you know the rules are that if you are lucky enough to score a royal flush made of clubs at the Rileys Ace of Clubs final here at Dusk Till Dawn then you win an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas for two… So, congratulations to Josh Stevens of Rileys in Chester as on the last hand before the break he did just that! There’s now 176 players remaining in the tournament.

A great day was fully enjoyed as 24 players took to the felt for the final of the Batemans Poker League. A.Powell from the Napoleon lll took the title but not without his fair share of luck whilst heads-up. The final hand saw his 4c7d spike a 4 on the turn to outdraw T.Hoyles’ Kc9s and with still one card to come, salt was rubbed further into the wounds as A.Powell proceeded to make two pair on the river. A.Powell takes home a much sought after Redtooth glass trophy and a cheque for his efforts.

This is the current top 10 of our online league who all stand to qualify for the next Regional Finals and with only one week left there is still a lot to play for! Addickted4ever looks to have an unassailable lead, although xJALBSCx can still steal it at the death but that seems very unlikely with only one week left.
