It was all about 8’s on the final table at the Central England regional final held at MK Dons football club. There was a nail biting hand between Simon Chambers of the Stags Head, Great Doddington and Daniel Parsons of the Bell, Aylesbury. Simon had A K in his hand against Daniels’ A 8 the flop came out as 8 6 K and Simon thought he had clinched it but the river delivered another 8, leaving Daniel to fight it out for the championship with Matt Welch of the Burnt Oak, Milton Keynes. The final hand had Daniel with Q 9 in his hand and J 8 for Matt. No one could call this hand would end the tournament when the flop and the turn delivered 3 4 6 5. It again came down to the river revealing another 8 and handing the Central England title to Matt. Well Done!

 The Village Hotel & Leisure Club in Headingley, Leeds was the host for the West Yorkshire final this season. With 189 runners the competition was certainly of a high standard, but in the end there could be only one winner. The final heads up between Bobby Duckworth of the Oddfellows Arms, Bradford and Mick Atkinson of the Bumper Castle Inn, York was quite exciting and it all came down to the river card. Bobby had Qc 10s in his hand against Mick’s 9h 10c. The flop delivered 9d 10h Ad giving Mick the advantage of 2 pairs, the turn revealed 7h and Mick was still in the lead. Then the river came and Ac came out giving Bobby the winning hand. Congratulations to all players for a very enjoyable day. A special mention goes to Nic Wood of the Lord Nelson, Wakefield who decided to place a £10 bet on himself with our online partners Betfred, with odds at 33/1 he would have been laughing all the way to the bank but was unfortunately knocked out of the competition finishing a very respectable 4^th place.

Neil McTaggart wins the Scotland Regional Final!

Players from all over Scotland gathered at the Queens Retreat, South Queensferry on Sunday 24th May to battle it out to become the Season 1 Redtooth Champion for Scotland.
Stuart Edby from the Northern Bar, Aberdeen had the dubious honour of being eliminated first, a three hundred mile round trip for one hand of cards.

Our on-line partners Betfred had for the first time ever given players the opportunity to have a bet on themselves in the final. Frank Coan, landlord of the Queens Retreat was one of the first to take up this option, placing bets on all of the qualifiers from the Queens Retreat, unfortunately his faith was not justified with Dave Merritt in 17th place being the best placed finisher.
