Scotland Grows!
June 11th, 2009
Redtooth are pleased to announce that our growth in Scotland means that we will now have two regions. This means that there will now be two regional finals held in Glasgow and Dundee from next season – which takes the Scottish cash prize pool to £8,000 for regional finals alone!
This is great news for those loyal Scottish players who have travelled long distances to take part in regionals in the past and we look forward to seeing them at the new events.
We are also able to report that we have aquired the Scotland Poker Club – this is one of the largest poker leagues in Scotland and brings new pubs to the league. John Kay from Scotland Poker Club commented “this is a great step forward for the league, it’s great to be part of the UK’s biggest pub poker league”.

East Midlands Regional Final
June 9th, 2009
Huge congratulations go to Sonya Atkin of the Sun Inn, Eastwood who became our second ever female Regional Champion. Sonya made it to the final table of the East Midlands final, which was held at the Village Hotel and Leisure Club, Nottingham, with a modest chipstack of 90k and managed to beat the chip leader, Luke Taylor of the Nags Head, Sleaford who had 140k. When the final hand was dealt, Luke had a confident Qd 10d against Sonya’s Kc 5s but the flop delivered 7c 5h 3s giving Sonya a pair of 5’s to win the game.

North East Regional Final
June 9th, 2009
Seat number one was lucky for Zain Said of the Magic Lantern, North Shields as he finished 1st at the North East regional final held at the Circus Casino, Newcastle. It was also a case of ‘third time lucky’ for Zain as he attended the previous two finals and was unable to win the title until now. The final heads up saw Zain with 6c 8c against Jim Robinson of New Seaham Conservative Club, Seaham with Js Jd, the flop revealed 6h Kc 6d giving Zain trip 6’s, enough to clinch the title, but there was still a chance Jim could snatch it back until the turn brought 8d and the river 4d giving Zain the Fullhouse.

London Regional Final
June 9th, 2009
The Loose Cannon Club was again the host for the London regional final on Sunday 7th June. The atmosphere was pretty tense at the start of the tournament but that soon changed when the first two players were knocked out in the same hand. Both Jason Elphick and Chris Elliott had their high pairs beaten when another player hit a straight on the flop, unlucky guys. The final table became quite a battle with everyone fighting to be the champion. A fierce heads up between Doug Sharp of Bar Malden, Surrey and Drew Hunt of Goose, Beckenham ensued and after several nail biting hands Drew won the tournament with his Ace high beating Doug’s King high.
