The Brownlow Arms in Newark, from our South Yorkshire region, became only the 2nd Redtooth Poker venue to win back to back Team Event titles. In season 4.4 (below) they were represented by Adrian Morrey, Alic Keay and C.L. Morton, whilst this time around for season 5.1 (above) they had three different representatives in the form of A.M. Jones, Karl Lambert and Sam Johnson. They now join the Plough Hotel in Preston who completed the double in seasons 4.3 & 4.4.

It’s been a cracking year for the Brownlow Arms as they were crowned the UK’s Best Pub Poker Night last year at the Great British Pub Awards. If your in the area, why not pop in and play in the UK’s greatest poker night?

A total of 169 players from more than sixty pubs and clubs took their seats at the first quarters Regional Final at the Circus Casino, Star City, Birmingham hoping to win seats for next years National Final.

Prior to the start individual pub winners were presented with certificates and the new design winners glass trophy in the shape of a spade.

The Loose Cannon Club was again taken over by Redtooth Poker as a swarm of poker players entered the card room for our West London Regional Final. Just as in East London, eight players would leave with a cash prize and a National Final seat.

Our North East Regional Final was played at the usual venue, the Circus Casino in Newcastle, where six players would be invited to Nottingham next year to compete in our annual National Final. Eight players would also be leaving with a share of £1,000.

Our very first Wales Regional Final was played at the Grosvenor Casino in Cardiff on Saturday 4th June. With 96 invited this time around, next season’s number is expected to be over 200 as we welcome our Wales Poker League venues. On this occasion, four players would be awarded a National Final seat.

Manchester 235 was a hive of activity on Sunday 5th June as Redtooth rolled in and were met by an excellent turnout on the day. Five players would qualify for the National Final in March 2012.

Michael Baxter who plays Redtooth Poker at the Halfway House in Prenton has become the first player to successfully defend their Redtooth Poker Regional Final crown. Michael attended the North West Two Regional Final at Leo’s Casino in Liverpool on Sunday 5th June. In season 4.4 Michael defeated 127 players to take the title and this time around defeated another 136 players. Can Michael make it a hat-trick in September?
