It seems the Royal Hotel at Atherton see more than their fair share of Royal Flushes. Here’s an account of the latest one seen on Monday 27th June from tournament director Rod Williams. “Blinds are 25-50 seven players all flat call to small blind Josh Beesley who raises to 500, one caller Mark Tildesley matches his bet. Flop comes down A-K-10D Josh checks Mark goes all in. After a lot of deliberation Josh calls. Mark turns over K-10, Josh turns over QH-QD. Turn is JD Royal Flush and Mark is left to lick his wounds.

Redtooth Quizzes on BBC Breakfast News!

Some of our Poker Pubs also play quizzes from Redtooth and we’ve been on BBC Breakfast news this morning as part of a report talking about how we try to make it harder for people to cheat with smartphones in pub quizzes.
BBC Breakfast also ran a breakfast quiz via Twitter during the show with some of our questions which went really well and was a trending topic for a while too! The video was in the top 10 most watched clips on the BBC website throughout the morning too.
It’s been featured on BBC News 24 and also going out on Points West (S West Area) twice today too.
West Midlands Two Regional Final Season 5.1

Our second West Midlands Regional Final was played at Star City in Birmingham. The usual eight players would qualify for the National Final and would also walk away with a share of £1,000.
Last season’s champion, Ross Brummell, was absent from the tournament so a new champion would be crowned. Last season’s runner-up, Dusan Porubsky, was in attendance as he looked to go one place better than last time.

West Yorkshire Regional Final Season 5.1

176 players started the season 1 West Yorkshire Regional Final at the Alea Casino in Leeds last Sunday promptly at 2.00pm.
Earlier pub winners had been presented with certificates and this years newly designed glass trophy in the shape of a spade. Clubs, hearts and diamonds are scheduled to follow as the trophy design in future years.
South Yorkshire Regional Final Season 5.1

The G Casino in Sheffield hosted their second Redtooth Poker Regional Final after the huge success of the first. Eight players would continue their Las Vegas dream and make it one step closer to Last Table Las Vegas while also leaving with a share of £1,000 on the day.
Brownlow Arms Claim 2nd Team Event

The Brownlow Arms in Newark, from our South Yorkshire region, became only the 2nd Redtooth Poker venue to win back to back Team Event titles. In season 4.4 (below) they were represented by Adrian Morrey, Alic Keay and C.L. Morton, whilst this time around for season 5.1 (above) they had three different representatives in the form of A.M. Jones, Karl Lambert and Sam Johnson. They now join the Plough Hotel in Preston who completed the double in seasons 4.3 & 4.4.

A total of 169 players from more than sixty pubs and clubs took their seats at the first quarters Regional Final at the Circus Casino, Star City, Birmingham hoping to win seats for next years National Final.

For the first quarterly final of the 2011/12 151 players took their seats at Aspers Casino in Northampton.
Prior to the start individual pub winners were presented with certificates and the new design winners glass trophy in the shape of a spade.
