Warren Stanley, poker player and general manager of the Mawney Arms in Romford has won a seat in Ireland’s biggest poker tournament, the Irish Open. Warren won his main event package, including the €3,500 buy-in, via two satellites on BetFred Poker. Warren tells his story below…

“My name is Warren Stanley and I am the general manager at the Mawney Arms in Romford. I have been running a pub poker night as part of the Redtooth Poker league for 2 years. I started playing poker about 4 years ago, firstly on a small scale with friends and after signing up to the Redtooth league I joined BetFred for the Final Chance Friday tournament. I have qualified a few times for the regional finals with my highest finish coming 2 seasons ago in the mid-thirties. I play frequently online with BetFred & I recently won the Irish Open main event package. I qualified through a feeder tournament which after winning put me into the main super satellite, approx 75 people entered & top 3 paid the main event prize of flights, hotel, spending money & buy in to the Irish Open and after 5&1/2 hours I achieved my dream of qualifying for a major pro tournament.”

We all wish Warren the very best of luck!
