Our North East regional final was hosted by the Grosvenor Casino in Newcastle with another seat into next year’s VEGAS100 up for grabs, along with £500 in cash.

The first award of the day was as always the team event trophy which recognises the day’s best represented venue. On this occasion the Joseph Pease in Darlington won this award and they were represented by Dan Robson, Tom Ketley, Peter Britton & Jeff Watson.

Our final table of 9 kicked off with Peter Fidler as the chip leader from Carl Wright by a marginal 4,000 chips. Previous VEGAS100 qualifier Chris Rudd was present as the short stack but soon busted in 7th place. With Aslam’s elimination in 4th place we were down to our final 3 players which soon brought our final hand of the tournament with a 3 way all-in. Dylan, having everyone covered, had the worst of it with 8-2 vs. A-4 & K-10. However, the board ran out 2-8-A-3-6 to bust Carl and Peter in 3rd and 2nd place respectively and crown Dylan Thompson the new North East regional champion.
