Paul Pitchford, who plays Redtooth Poker at the Talbot in Mansfield had a weekend to remember in London. Paul won a seat for Event #3 of this years WSOPE via his ‘Player Of The Series’ achievement in the recent APAT World Amateur Championships, the second successive year that Paul has claimed this title.
Paul ended his long run in the £1,075 buy-in event in 4th place winning a handsome £40,862 while rubbing shoulders on the final table with the likes of JP Kelly, one of the UK’s finest. It was indeed Kelly who eliminated Paul as Paul’s 95 was in bad shape against JP’s A5 pre-flop and with a board of 833 T 5 Paul would just miss out on the £133,857 1st prize and of course a WSOP bracelet. But still, a £40k win is not bad when you are free-rolling.
Congratulations Paul!

Mondays poker night at the Royal Hotel, Atherton saw an impressive Royal Flush. Here’s the details from tournament director Rod Williams:
“Blinds are 150/300 Andy “Kingfisher” Taylor is under the gun. Andy calls 2000 chips. All fold to big blind Lee Jones.
Lee calls his bet, game on.
Flop comes. Kh, Ac, Qc.
Lee, first to bet, calls ‘All In’ for 2050 chips. Andy calls.
Andy has trip Kings with Kc and Ks. Lee has Ah and 10s.
Turn: 10c,
River: Jc.”
Well Done Andy!
